Ventilator Nurse Training Program

Welcome to the Ventilator Nurse Training (VeNT) Program, a simulation-based train-the-trainer program for nurses caring for children on chronic home ventilation. This website will provide access to all materials needed for your participation in this program.

Mandatory tasks to complete prior to your virtual training session:

Complete tasks in the following order:

1) Open and (if you agree to) complete the pre-session survey prior to viewing the online modules

2) Watch the Introduction to Training Lecture

3) Watch the online modules

Pediatric Tracheostomy Basics
Ventilator 101
Trach/Vent Emergency Situations
SBAR Communication

Introduction to SBAR communication (read before watching the video)

4) Review and print out the Train-the-trainer tip sheet to use during the virtual session. It provides helpful tips for acting as the nurse trainer during the simulation sessions.

5) Print out the simulation scenario checklists to use during the virtual session
