Henry Brems is an Instructor of Medicine within the Department of Medicine and Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He is a graduate of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and he completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Henry completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University, where he also was a Hecht-Levi fellow at the Berman Institute of Bioethics.
His research interests are at the intersection of health equity and pulmonary disease. He has been particularly interested in the impacts of using race to interpret lung function and assessing barriers to its de-implementation. His other primary research focus has centered around how to improve the care provided to patients with COPD and asthma who discharge before medically advised.
