Brian Ricker, MBE

Production Assistant

Brian Ricker joined the Dracopoulos-Bloomberg iDeas Lab in March 2025 as a production assistant. He has worked closely with the team on various projects, such as Harnessing the Promise of Nursing and Feels Like Home. He also served as a teaching assistant for the first rendition of the Bioethics, New Narratives, & Storytelling class, offered to the Master of Bioethics students in Term 1 of 2025.

Ricker received his BA in Medicine, Science, and the Humanities at the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences in 2024. During this time, he completed the pre-medical coursework with a focus on hemodynamics. Ricker worked with the University of Michigan Computational Vascular Biomechanics lab, culminating in an article on May-Thurner syndrome published in 2024.

Ricker then obtained his MBE from the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics in 2025, receiving the Ruth R. Faden Scholarship to support this endeavor. His thesis focused on an alternative to the current consent model for traumatic brain injury treatment, which he hopes to further explore alongside his interests in the ethics of health insurance public policy.
