Confronting, reflecting upon, and learning about egregious ethical violations of physicians and the medical establishment in Germany and Austria during the Third Reich have been described as a moral imperative within medical education. Through lenses of medical educator and daughter of a Holocaust survivor, Dr. Hedy Wald, delves into this dark history and braids the story of her collaboration with the Witten-Herdecke Faculty of Health, teaching medical and psychology students in Germany.

Hedy S. Wald, Ph.D., is Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University; Faculty, Harvard Medical School Global Pediatrics Leadership Program; and Commissioner, Lancet Commission on Medicine and the Holocaust.
