Maddie graduated from the University of Connecticut in May 2020 as an Honors Scholar with a double major in Molecular & Cell Biology and Philosophy. Concentrating on bioethical issues in both majors, her thesis focused on the ethics of direct-to-consumer genetic testing, focusing on the marketing, delivery of results, and research initiatives of 23andMeâ. She is also interested in genetics, pediatric, and women’s healthcare ethics. As a college athlete, Maddie played on the UConn Women’s Club Soccer team and was on the HuskyTHON Management Team, a year-long fundraising and awareness mission for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center culminating in an 18-hour dance marathon. Maddie looks forward to being surrounded by people who are also passionate about bioethics!
