Meet Our New Board Member

Liza Bailey is the third great niece of Johns Hopkins, the founder of Johns Hopkins University. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Johns Hopkins Medicine, Johns Hopkins Health System, Johns Hopkins International, and Johns Hopkins University, as well as the Advisory Councils for the Institute for Basic Biomedical Research, the Peabody Institute, and the Johns Hopkins Press. She was the Chair of the Audit Committees for the Johns Hopkins Health System and Johns Hopkins International, respectively. Additionally, she is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Hastings Center.

Liza’s professional career includes thirty-four years in the financial industry providing strategic advisory, investment banking, and investment services. Her experience includes working with Morgan Bank as an Equity Analyst, and a Portfolio Manager with Chase Investors Management Corporation. Liza was a member of Credit Suisse First Boston’s Mergers and Acquisition Department and was the Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston’s Consumer Investment Banking Group of the Americas.

Liza received her B.S.F.S in International Economics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and is a Certified Financial Analyst. She is married to Professor Michael Musgrave, a music scholar, pianist, and a member of the Juilliard School faculty. They reside in New York City and the Hudson Valley and have two sons and three grandchildren who live in London.
