Matilda Ostow

Transcriptionist

Matilda Ostow is a transcriptionist for the Berman Institute’s Moral Histories Oral History Project. She earned a BA in anthropology and environmental studies from Wesleyan University and was a 2018 Humanity in Action Fellow in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Living in Philadelphia, PA, Matilda works along the lines of humanities, health, oral history, and the arts. She has restored old books, including a 19th century whaling journal, and tends to a grave garden–a grave resembling a raised garden bed–for Hannah Hollis, who died in 1886.
