Maria Camitan graduated in 2021 from Binghamton University where she double majored in Integrative Neuroscience and Philosophy. At Binghamton, she was involved in several biomedical anthropology projects investigating the prevalence of Lyme Disease and other tick-borne diseases within New York’s Southern Tier. She was also part of Global Health Impact where she served as a systematic review team leader and brief podcast co-host. Upon graduating, she worked as a Visiting Scholar for Northwell Health’s Division of Rheumatology where she helped manage clinical trials and blood draw registries, especially those involving COVID-19 patients. Maria is currently interested in the ethical implications of geriatric patient care, trauma research, and clinical trials within underserved communities. She also looks forward to continuing work on global health. Outside of school, Maria enjoys baking and playing card games.
